Shipping Policies

Mr. Knits (pictures right) will ship within 2 business days of receiving your order and payment. We may, at our sole discretion, ship sooner, upgrade the shipping service (especially for a late shipment), or include a free product when it is cost-effective.

We offer $5 shipping (waived for purchases $40 or higher) to the United States, US territories, Armed Forces addresses, etc. Basically, anywhere served by the United States Postal Service (USPS) is offered this arrangement. We most commonly use USPS Ground Advantage, which we have found to be very reliable overall. To keep shipping costs down, we reserve the right to use another option such as UPS Ground or FedEx Ground.

Mrs. Knits won't stand for her "yummies" being poorly wrapped! To ensure you receive the yarn in new condition, Mr. Knits will use the plastic bag used by the manufacturer (or similar) inside a plastic mailing bag. So it's at least as well packed as the manufacturer sent it to us. We may instead use a bubble mailer pouch, which will stand up to most shipping lane calamity just as well as double-bagging. We want you to receive yarn in the same condition you would expect to see when picking it up off a yarn shop shelf.

Our shipping provider, Shipping Easy, has given us the ability to select Carbon Neutral shipping. That means for all our shipments to you, Shipping Easy will calculate the carbon costs and donate to a cause to offset them. Details can be found here at the Shipping Easy site.

Can I request expedited shipping?

We are still exploring options to do so, but that is not available, at least not yet.

What about combined shipments?

We will combine shipments whenever possible to keep our offerings reasonably priced. US purchases over $40 come with a shipping discount.

Drop shipping

What that means, generically speaking, is that one entity takes an order, then directs another entity to ship the item to the customer. For Mrs. Knits Yarn Shop, it means you buy something from us, and I turn around and ask one of our wholesale suppliers to ship the item directly to you.

How will that affect your buying experience at Mrs. Knits Yarn Shop? Not at all when it goes smoothly. So don’t be shy! Most of our drop-ship offerings are LYKKE needle & hook sets, KFI project kits, and some larger orders.

How do I track my order?

You will receive carrier tracking information when we initiate shipment by printing the label. We avoid delaying shipment after this point, it should be on it’s way by the next USPS shipping day.

International shipping

We are now shipping to other countries! Just go ahead and try to order. We have arrangements for several other countries already.

Is your country not set up yet?

If you get that message saying we don’t ship to you, please complete our contact form to request service to your country. Mr. Knits will email you back to confirm it is possible, and offer some general expectations on shipping, tariffs and duties. After he sets it up with our shipper, you should be able to order like everyone else. There is just no method currently available for us to say “we ship everywhere”. So please do not hesitate to ask, and we’re happy to be of service!
